One of the benefits of set network standards, such as the 802.11 wireless network protocol, is that devices manufactured by different companies can be used in conjunction with each other. If your business uses both Belkin wireless-G routers and Cisco Linksys wireless-G adapters, you don’t have to worry about connection issues. Regardless of the manufacturer, as long as you are within range of your wireless-G router, you will be able to connect any wireless-G adapter to it without issue.

1. Insert the drivers/software disc that came with your Linksys wireless-G adapter into your computer’s optical drive and click the “Install” button to initialize it. Follow the prompts and, when prompted, plug the adapter into a free USB port.

2. Remove the disc from your optical drive and click the “Linksys Wireless Manager” icon in the system tray area of the Windows taskbar. Choose the “View Wireless Networks” option from the context menu.

3. Select your Belkin wireless-G router’s network name from the list of networks within range and click “Connect.” When prompted, type in the network password to connect to the Belkin router.
