Wireless Network DVR Security System

CCTV Camera Pros recently had a customer ask the following question regarding how to connect a CCTV DVR to a wireless network (assuming that the DVR does not have built in WIFI).

I purchased an H.264 DVR about a month ago, and it works great. Because of the location of my CCTV cameras, I must keep it at one end of my house, whereas I have my network router at the other end with the fiber optics internet connection. Is it possible to connect the DVR to a 2nd router set up as a bridge in order to connect to the network and over the internet, or must the DVR be directly connected to the main router?

CCTV Camera Pros made the following recommendation:

Although we always recommend hard wiring surveillance DVRs via CAT5 for network connectivity, we realize that this is not always feasible. In cases where hard wiring a DVR is not possible, you can connect the DVR to a wireless network bridge. Please see the below network diagram.

The WIFI-AP3500 wireless access point can be configured in wireless bridge mode which allows it to connect to a WIFI access point. In this diagram an iDVR-E4 is hard wired via CAT5 to a WIFI-AP3500. The AP3500 bridge is configured to connect over WIFI to a Cisco LinkSys router.
